Though Windows allows us to change themes, desktop background, appearances and graphic resolutions by ourselves, it’s useful to know how to prevent these settings from compromising by others. Type ‘regedit’ in Run box to open registry editor. Navigate through HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Policies\System. Right-click on the right pane to show up pop-up menu. Choose New>DWORD Value. Name ‘NoDispBackgroundPage’ for the new DWORD. Right-click on ‘NoDispBackgroundPage’ to select ‘Modify’ form pop-up menu. Then Edit DWORD Value box appears. Change hexadecimal value to ‘1’. Click OK and it’s done. You need to reboot the PC to take effect. It’s always recommended to backup registry before testing!
