Microsoft’s Office is threatened by Google Apps.

In the realm of Web 2.0, software applications, I think, are going online. What I mean is that we don’t need to care about what kind of applications are installed our PCs as long as the applications we like to use are available on the net. I believe Google has that vision and Google Apps Premier Edition does cater for the Web 2.0 vision of Google. So there will surely be battles between desktop applications and Web 2.0 applications in the near future.

Sort out unsorted files automatically.

If you ask me, “do you always have to sort different files such as .jpeg, .mp3, .doc and so on into specified folders such as MyPics, MyMp3, etc?” You bet! Especially when I download all sorts of things to a single folder and later I have to sort those files out manually. Isn’t it a daunting task? This little but useful program called FileSort can do sorting for you automatically. You can set the different rules to sort files for e.g. ‘get all .jpeg files sorted into MyPics folder’. Rule can be applied to different file formats, sizes of the files and even ages of the files. Once set the setting, you can forget about sorting and your PC will always be tidy!
