Gtalk’s voice mail feature is really useful. But sometimes you may want to record your voice and replay it before you send it via email clients like Outlook Express. You can also use the software to record voice from microphone and save as .mp3 or .wav. The best feature I like is that the software uses some kind of compression method which reduces the size from 16 or 10 times while maintaining quality.

Page Saver.

I'd like to introduce another webpage capture free-ware called Page Saver. In fact, it is a firefox extention and only can be run with firefox. It is a really handful tool. You can use it to capture the visible portion of a page or entire page by right-clicking on the page of your choice and selecting available options. You can save captured images as PNG or JPEG and even adjust the size of image file to be saved. The bad thing is you can’t select a desired region on a page. Read the review of similar software.

Panda Software has provided a gadget for webmasters and bloggers alike. The gadget shows how many PCs worldwide or local are infected by virus. The gadget is dubbed 'infex' showing the percentage of of infected PCs out of all the PCs scanned. I juz put the gadget on this blog. You can t00 grab the gadget here.

Create your own search engine.

Maybe you wonder how the heck I create a search engine by myself. Hold on! You can do it with Rollyo. It is slightly different from what normal search engines do. When you search something in Google, you are provided by the results powered by Google itself. You can’t control over the results. Rollyo does different thing. It empowers you to take control on the results. How? You first need to select the sites you like or trust and group those sites. E.g. you select about.com, answer.com, dictionary.com and wikipedia.com and you name the group ‘my reference’. Such groups are called Searchrolls. You can create as many Searchrolls as you want. If you want to send or store a file as huge as 50 MB online, File Cargo would suit you best although there are so many free file hosting sites. The good things about FC are unlimited storage and download. You can upload any file format. After you uploaded a file, FC gives you URL of the uploaded file which you can insert into a website or blog or email or social networking site. The bad thing I learned is that the first URL doesn’t allow you to download a file. When you go to the first URL, you are led to an advertising page before you get a real download link.
